Annie L. In the 1400s, the majority of Europeans believed that the world was flat. However, a small grop of people had a theory that the world was round. With the help of Queen Isabella, a young man named Christopher Columbus put together a team of explorers. In hopes of finding a new trade route to China, these ambitious men boarded their boats and set sail. Instead of finding Asia, Columbus and his crew stumbled upon a new land; America. Columbus discovered a whole new continent. Furthermore, he proved to Europeans that the world was actually round. With his endurance, intelligence, and creativity, Columbus and his crew discovered the continent of North America.
